Reports forest statistics for Minnesota based on five annual inventories from 2001 through 2005. Minnesota's total forest area is estimated at 16.3 million acres or 32 percent of the total land area of the State. The estmated total live-tree volume on forest land is 17.7 billion cubic feet or 1,085 cubic feet per acre. The estimated aboveground live-tree biomass on Minnesota's forest land is 465 million dry tons or nearly 28.5 tons per acre.
