Wisconsin's Forest Resources in 2004

The North Central Research Station's Forest Inventory and Analysis (NCFIA) program, in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), began fieldwork for the sixth inventory of Wisconsin's forest resources in 2000. This initiated a new annual inventory system in which one-fifth of the field plots (considered one panel) in the State are measured each year. A complete inventory consists of measuring, compiling, and reporting data for five panels.
