Overview
More and more pastors and preachers are calling it quits and leaving the ministry for new careers away from the church. What is the cause for this alarming exodus and more importantly, is there anything that can be done to change it? Holy Toast gives revealing insights into the world of full time ministry and creates a starting place for dialogue in churches about the challenges of pastoral life in the 21st century. Holy Toast gives the reader a backstage pass into the life of a minister and highlights some of the challenges and struggles that many ministers face. This book attempts to lift the curtain on what life is like from a minister's point of view and uncover why so many who enter ministry end up leaving. It is an easy read filled with real life preacher stories that will at times make you laugh out loud and at other times summon a few tears. Born out of the author's experiences as both a preacher's kid and a full time minister himself, Holy Toast examines seven of the most influential factors that contribute to ministerial burn out. A valuable read for ministers, church members and leaders alike, this book serves as an excellent tool for fostering dialogue on one of the modern church's most critical challenges.
