Overview

In 2010, the David's life changed forever when he was struck by a teenage driver while cycling in his hometown. The resulting traumatic brain injury led him to chronicle his journey as a survivor, resulting in a collection of written pieces that offer an insider's perspective on life after TBI. Divided into three segments - Learning to Crawl, Learning to Walk, and Learning to Soar - the essays depict the early struggles, the progress made, and the realization that a meaningful life is possible after a brain injury. Recovery from TBI is lifelong, but the author has learned to coexist with his injury and cherish the good days while enduring the hard ones. Through his writing, he hopes to offer hope and understanding to readers and show that a fulfilling life after TBI is possible.
