Overview
A gritty and erotic guide to gay Buenos Aires woven into an irresistible and explosively sexual romance about the narcissistic world of Argentine "taxi boys," hustlers who use their beauty and their bodies to ensnare their prey with sometimes deadly results, a world in which a young American, Jason Woodfield, becomes hopelessly entangled. With only four hours left until the cocktail of medications he has taken silences him forever, Jason sets out to tell his best friend Claire all that has happened to him. As his fingers race across the keyboard, he emails his tale of a closeted gay college student who came to Buenos Aires to escape a repressive Midwestern town and ended up following his obsession with a male prostitute straight to his own destruction. From the moment Jason sees a picture of Maxi in a chat room, he can't get him out of his mind, but their encounter will launch a chain of events that will eventually lead to the deaths of three people. Neither hero nor villain, Jason takes life by the horns in a way that many of us fantasize, but few of us would ever dare act out. Everyone who sometimes dreams of taking a walk on the dark side of life should read this novel.
