An Overview of Financial Crises around the World provides students with a sample of articles that analyze different episodes of financial crisis both in the United States and in other countries and regions of the world. Students learn the principal causes, consequences, and policy responses that emerge as a result of financial crises and build an understanding of the similarities of occurrences across nations. The articles within this volume are organized into four parts. In Part I, students are provided with an overview of financial crises theory.
