The book details a dialogue between Philomathes and Epistemon, two men who seek to uncover the truth of everything from demons to witchcraft through theological and philosophical discourse. These writings fueled the fires behind witch trials for years to come, and are even believed to have influenced Shakespeare's Macbeth.
