Overview
The new Beatles paperback. The Beatles as Prophets & Peacniks...their messages of peace and love and the 'war on terror', the Illuminati, the New World Order and the elites. The following history belongs to America and the rest of the world as much as it belongs to Liverpool. It is their heritage too. Compared in style by one experienced 'Beatleologist' to Rock Critic Richard Meltzer's iconic, ground breaking Pop parables and by acclaimed author and Beatles scholar Professor Ken Womack as grounded in 'a richly textured socio-cultural context.' Esteemed Beatles writer Bill Harry has also commented that Journey Into Beatledom looks like it could become 'a very interesting book.' Discover why The Beatles were curiously viewed by some as quasi-supernatural beings from the beyond. - 'An intricately unique take on the prison and prism of Beatlemania. The Beatles were prophets as well as peaceniks and this book examines why.' If the brain is a quantum computer, then The Beatles were the internet of the 60's, functioning like a quantum computer of their time. Perhaps a strange thing to say in itself. Many of the baby boomers of that decade considered themselves not only fervent fans, but believers of a global world view The Beatles tacitly espoused; the notion that spirit cum consciousness is the source of all material 'reality' and that both are part of the same unified, quantum 'oneness' of time, space, matter, indeed, everything. This notion also informed the foursome's anti-war stance which was extremely important in the campaign that brought the US-Vietnam conflict to a halt in the early 70's. Taking America by storm in 1964, they even won over the hard nosed New York press corps with their quick wit, intelligent repartee and down to earth, Liverpudlian personalities; managing to face down the British establishment by refusing to be cowed by its ruling class mentality and poking fun at the arrogant bigotry of the rich and powerful, actually sending them into a hasty retreat for the rest of the decade. This was a feat of remarkable chutzpah for what was supposed to be, by early 60's standards, just another passing 'pop' fad. The Beatles were however, soon to prove that their charisma, like their global reach, lay well beyond the confines of 'Pop'. These four young musicians from the fringes, quickly became the center-piece of an unfolding set of strange prophecies, which not only somehow were fulfilled, but which are still unravelling today. In essence, they became spiritual conduits of change, truly the chosen ones driving forward the electrifying 60's decade of progress and empowerment, tumult and music making. Since they never sought such hallowed status, they found the whole idea of their canonisation absurd. When John Lennon's own messianic complex kicked in in the final third of the decade, Paul, George and Ringo's wry smiles told you all you needed to know, as the sainted John, alternating in his drug induced state between child-like self promotion and iconoclasm, debunked the Beatle brand as 'just a band that made it very, very big, that's all.' But if the story of Lucy in the Sky is just one of several about the inhabitants of Pepperland, it is also just another variant on the one about Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland or Through The Looking Glass. Read about the band's incredible, mysterious (even spooky) ability to appear to be two different things at the same time. They came to global prominence in a remarkably mercurial and questing mental environment, so when modern quantum theorists talk of 'reality', what it is or what it is not, they are also exploring the Carrollean and digital 'rabbit holes' of noughts and ones (binary code) and their inexplicable coming together and union; a composite, mathematical hybrid of sorts as we are taken down inside the quantum imaginations of Beatledom to Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane and many other songs inhabiting the inner space of the 'Labskausian' nano-realm.
