Overview
On a breathtaking horse farm in quiet Bedford, Virginia, Cary McCutcheon and his wife, Pam Ashworth McCutcheon, live the good life. Or so it seems. Lately, Cary's thoroughbred-horse business has fallen into financial trouble. Pam's distinguished aunt Pamela Ashworth is in ill health and needs help. And then there is one thing that has always bothered Aunt Pamela and her niece-a dark family secret that has never been investigated. When Cary and Pam visit Aunt Pamela in Charlottesville, they decide that they must learn the truth. Just as they begin to investigate, Pam is thrown from her horse while riding. Unconscious, she is airlifted to the nearest hospital. When she is released, the family decides that they need the help of investigator Connie Holt. Connie typically takes on horse cases, but she comes on board to help Cary, her boss. While staying with Aunt Pamela, Connie scrutinizes the family's history and financial past. What she uncovers will change their lives forever. The fourth volume in the Connie Holt Mystery series is a story of love, secrets, and money that will have you on the edge of your seat until the last page.
