Book I of ONE LAST CHANCE journeys throughout the lives of four childhood friends who meet again as teenagers, and want more than what they ask for, thinking the dope game is the key to the answer. Kino has the brains, yet like so many others, he falls short due to his desire and lack of positive role models. Murk has the heart and muscle, but uses them without thinking or caring about the end result. All Coupe wants to do is floss, and will do anything to keep his flossing status; like his father, Pastor Placky. Poochy just follows along and fits in, trying to help his Mother, little sister, and Grandfather. Through their excursions, the reader will be able to reflect on their own life and learn to take admonition from the wrong choices of these characters, to the betterment of one's self. Will they succeed and become one of the few who make it out of the streets, without regretting and wishing they had ONE LAST CHANCE? Finally a palatable novel portraying the life of the Dirty South without the exaggeration that Author's write and lyricist rap about in scenes they often never experienced. -Blood Raw- After ten pages my heart was breaking for these kids, I could see how their lives were forking to tragedy and their potential wasted.
