Those raised by the sea are marked by it in ways beyond sea water stains and sun-colored skin. It is a life and culture that stays even when removed from the sea side. Who does one meet and what are their songs? The journeys are as long as St Brendan's voyages, but not nearly as saintly. Adventurers and inventors, workers and lovers, soldiers and immigrants make up some of the stories. After leaving the shore, even more saints, sinners and story tellers are found. Bill Black spent portions of his youth along the shores and inlets of the Southern US coasts. As he moved away, the memories of the shores never left him as he explored new places, people and stories. This is his fourth book of story poems.
