The Cold War culminated into the unleashing of the weaponized Red Mist virus. After a disaster at a Soviet missile silo caused the virus to spread in the Motherland, Soviet leaders launched the virus all over the planet, leading to the fall of mankind. Kimber Balas is a survivor. She has only known the world after the Red Mist virus turned people into infected maniacs.
