Overview
The Old Testament is critical for the Christian's faith. Paul (2 Timothy 3:15) sees the Old Testament as a textbook on Christ. Peter and John used the Old Testament as their text when preaching the Gospel of Christ (Acts 2-3). John in his book of Revelation shows us the Christian's eternal hope of Heaven as a fulfillment of Old Testament themes (Revelation 21-22). Jesus used the Old Testament to explain his ministry to his disciples after his Resurrection (Luke 24:25-27). Paul "proved from the Scriptures" that Jesus is the Messiah (Acts 17:2-3). Everywhere we turn, we see Christ and the Apostles using it as a source of data to explain the Gospel of Christ. Christ is working on the same House introduced to us by the Old Testament.
