Overview
Although the Bible gives insights into David's grief and repentance after his adulterous behavior toward the wife of Uriah, we hear very little about Bathsheba herself. In Bathsheba's Journey Lorita Boyle delves realistically into what this faithful Hebrew wife must have experienced in a culture where women were stoned for adultery, and often treated as chattel. However, the implications go far beyond the biblical context. Bathsheba, betrayed and abused by a man she both respected and admired, faced the same emotional turmoil that many abused women experience today. Her road toward forgiveness and healing provides hope and direction for anyone who has been crushed by abuse or betrayal.
