Overview
The Crime of The Congo and discover how Sir Arthur Conan Doyle unmasks the early crimes and abuses committed against humanity throughout the Congo Free State. A prolific writer most noted for his highly successful fictional detective Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was also a Scottish writer, physician, and humanitarian. In this book, Doyle steps away from fiction and delves into the reality of savage colonial abuse to support The Congo Reform Association under King Leopold II's authority. Other famous writers who supported the cause are Joseph Conrad, Anatole France, and Mark Twain, who wrote a political satire named King Leopold's Soliloquy.
