Overview
This LDS science fiction novel explores what happens when the alien race we make first contact with discovers Earth is the planet that killed Jesus Christ, the Savior of the Universe. 70,000 light years from Earth, at the supernova Eta Carinae, an Earth ship makes first contact with the Rovers, an alien race. Hopes that Earth can build a peaceful relationship with this new species are dashed when the Rovers obtain a child's book that outlines the religions on Earth. From it they learn that Earth is the Killing World - the planet the murdered Jesus Christ, the Savior of the Universe. Earth is given one chance to return and justify their existence, and deep space verssel The Angel Falls is recruited to do the job. Jacob Novak once dreamed of being an astrogator on an Exploration Corps ship. But just before graduation, that dream is shattered when an accident strips him of his commission and what he loved most. There is no future for washouts in the Corps, and running from his past, he can't seem to deal with the present. Then one day, he receives a phone call from Salt Lake City and is given one slim chance for a future in space, if he'll take an unusual assignment on The Angel Falls.
