Laurence Sterne was an Irish writer and Anglican clergyman. Sterne is now best known for his classic novels A Sentimental Journey Through France and Italy, and The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy.A Sentimental Journey Through France and Italy that details Sterne's trip in 1765. The book is often seen to be an epilogue to The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy as well as a response to Tobias Smollett's book Travels through France and Italy.
