When Heather Shepherd receives the news that Hillside's favorite crime novelist, Grayson Stark, has been murdered in his own home, she's shocked. But that shock is short-lived as Heather won't let a murder in her town go uninvestigated. She sets off to solve the case, set on discovering the truth about Stark's death and the clues which might lie in his books. Armed with a box of her most delicious creation yet, Creme Brulee Donuts, and help from her soon to be recognized P.I. bestie, she decides that no case will go unsolved, no matter the consequences. Heather's got more to deal with than just a case this time around - things are muddied in her personal life due to a series of slanderous articles, and everyone at Donut Delights is in desperate need of a break from the slew of orders. Heather must uncover the truth about the circumstances surrounding Stark's death and find the real killer before he strikes again.
