The Modern Cryptid isn't exactly the New Yorker when it comes to journalistic prestige, but Lydia Thorp doesn't mind. She enjoys working for the small-town magazine and getting to know her quirky coworkers. There's another reason why Lydia works for the Modern Cryptid. She could practically be their cover girl. If anyone at work found out about Lydia's status as a not-quite out-and-proud werewolf, it would be the scoop of the century. Lydia's determined not to let that happen. Things don't always go the way we plan. Lydia is thrown when introduced to the magazine's latest journalist, Natalie Vanderbuilt, who has a lead on sightings of a gigantic dog.
