Broken Blue Willow

Black cats and broken mirrors. Crossed fingers and crows of three. Stepped-on cracks and spilled salt. Four-year-old Margaret was already well versed in superstitions when she broke one of Granny's prized Blue Willow dishes and was banished to Great-grandmother Hazel's upstairs apartment. The old witch told young Margaret the story of the Blue Willow curse. "Whoever breaks the last Blue Willow dish will suffer the death of the one she loves the most." Warned to tell no one or the curse would come true, Margaret dedicated her life to the practice of superstitious rituals, hoping to prevent herself from committing disaster.
