ABOUT THIS BOOKMATTHEW 7:7 KJVKeep Asking, Seeking, Knocking7"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!12Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. The (a) point of this verse is the inspiration for gathering the below information in to this one source. Here Jesus is making the point that as children of God we are entitled to "ASK" for those things we want, need and desire. Now God already knows not only our needs but our desires but as most good parents do, he prefers for you to ask him from time to time for these things. To assure him of at least two things; first that He is necessary and needed in our lives and secondly to show you how much He loves you by giving or providing that which we are not able to obtain ourselves. When we seek after Him, God knows we truly want His attention, help or guidance. Have you ever seen a child in a candy store pulling and tugging at his parent's coat with one hand and pointing with the other hand at that which they desired. The pointing is to assure that the parent sees what it is they want and the tugging is to get their undivided attention. For them to look down upon their need. God desires that we desire him, even though we can not see him in the natural realm we know when he is with us by his presence. The knocking, we don't have to knock on God's door He is always standing at the door to our heart knocking at to get our attention. When we knock at the door we believe God is behind, we are knocking on the wall built around our heart to protect it from the hurt of this world. So as we knock down on that door guarding our hearts he knocks at the same door letting you know he is there waiting for you to open it.
