There are fabulous leaders around the world who left their marks of greatness in the history book that most of the historians never want you to know about, most of the writers never put down their names to a paper, most of the speakers never mention them. Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba Mbacke is one of them. Whenever the mainstream media is celebrating the peacemakers, heroes who led a peaceful resistance against their opponents as Gandhi or King, they always forget the name of Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba who had led a peaceful resistance against the French colonizers years before anyone, even those two great leaders I had named. But being a writer that no one read, would not stop me from telling the world about the man. His ability to endure pain is unbelievable, his power to forgive injustice done to him is unseeable, his spiritual power is untouchable. The French colonizers exiled him to Gabon almost eight years, separated him from his family, followers, even tried to murder him based on false accusations. His enemies made up around him just to destroy him, though, all their plans were blown out of the water and he beat them all, one by one. This book is the first book of my (Cheikh Lo) projects that I named "Light up the Midnight," which is an ongoing series of books covering thematically the life of Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba, his doctrine and his heritage to show the world that Islam is not terrorism.
