Overview
Charleston D. Greenwood was raised in poverty. And because of the pressure of poverty she decided to be more than just simplicity. She was brought up in the streets of 5th Ward, Houston, Texas. But now she lives in Conroe, Texas with her husband Lorenzo Greenwood and there 9 children. Over the last 6 years she has written and performed spoken word she has written books and gotten close to God. Her favorite poets are The Shulammite Girl, the Song of songs her one of her favorite books in the bible. She loves W.E.B. Du Bois "The Song of Smoke" and William Shakespeare. She loves the African idols, and some of the Roman art and also and artist by the name of Tony Ri'chard. Comfort is not her style! She is out going fun and puts smiles on her family faces everyday. She's confident, independent, strong and knows what she wants out of life. The reason she believes that God is her poetry because what comes from her comes from God. Her connection to him gives her access to who she is and what it is that he wants her to release form heaven to earth. She's not saying that poetry is her God but God is her poetry, when she look around she see God's creation as the most beautiful art created. When she look at the sun rise are humanity, the potter and the clay she begin to create poetry the way god see's it. God is my poetry will inspire you, life you and motivate you in life's journey.
