Army Group South

On April 30th, 1945, Adolf Hitler committed suicide. However, Germany had not yet surrendered. By May 6th, the US 71st Division reached the Enns River in Austria, the limit of the American occupation, by agreement with the Soviets. Their commander sent a 50-man Recon patrol across the River to find the Red Army. Instead, they were captured by elements of German's Army Group South, 800,000 men in 35 divisions, still actively engaged in combat. This story, developed around the true historical events, tells the story of how these men, at risk of being shot, bluffed that they were a peace mission sent to negotiate surrender terms. The story explores why men fight when the cause is lost. And it shares the perspective on the Second World War 2 by German officers, proud professionals and patriots of their country,
