Overview
Priestess of Secrets is a collection of unique voices: the abused woman who wants to abandon her disabled son... the wife who waits for her husband to wind down like a clock...the man with a desk full of unfinished novels who cannot look in the mirror...the house that is throwing a party to which the owner is not invited...the parents who call their daughter slipshod and watch her walk away...these and 12 other voices await you in Deborah's collection of her very favorite flash fiction. Each one will take you on a journey that is fresh and fascinating. "A series of fictive vignettes...a wonderful assemblage of voices. Introducing each of these "flash fictions" is a statement that snares the reader: "The minute we die we become more valuable." "The car smelt like mold." "There were no orchards in my childhood." "She'd always wanted a room that wasn't a room." They pull you into the miniature worlds Fruchey has created. Sometimes they comprise internal dialogues of an interesting someone, and you want to know more. Sometimes it is a question to tumble for answers. However, without exception you are engrossed." - from the foreword by Robert Eastwood
