Overview
Author Bill Mann may just be America's true laureate of "reading out loud." After reciting a poem he wrote for his mother at age five, the author of Public Works continued to read his growing volume of poems, literature, and song lyrics to an equally wide variety of audiences. He has provided readings of his various works to university students and professors, auto parts workers, librarians, retirees, Wall Street types, and children alike. "But my personal favorite audiences," says Mr. Mann with a wink, "have been the Northern California Redwoods and the Southwestern Saguaros." This remarkable book contains material penned over a period of sixty years. The relevant and sometimes controversial topics featured in Public Works are at times whimsical, humorous, poignant, and thought-provoking. Open this beautifully crafted book indoors or out, and discover how Public Works may inspire and empower you to read out loud!
