Overview
Why are modern politics so partisan and divisive? How did our culture of envy, disengagement, and victimization come about? Consensual Democracy reveals the origins and development of guardianism in western political economy: a concise, eye-opening look at how normal human development includes an instinct for direct participation in the things that matter most--shared autonomy or individualism within a social setting. This unique book reveals the connection between guardian politics and guardian economics while exploring the possibilities of direct citizen self-governance in both the private and public sectors. Includes a complete bibliography with further reading list plus index.
