Overview
Talent Brubaker's orderly American life is rocked when she wakes up one morning on a strange island, where her first conversation - - with a fish - - has her wondering if she's asleep, insane, or dead. The fish, Bass Mama, is sure her friend, Parsnip, has swapped places with Talent, muttering something about consulting the wise ones of an inland country, Brennem Wild. Talent finds Lemuel, Parsnip's lover, who agrees to guide her, but the journey's long; tight-lipped Lemuel and his intimidating dog, Larcenous, challenge Talent to stretch herself to adjust to this strange world. But will that be enough to get her home?
