I propose it because truth is either recognized or not. If it is recognized, it becomes a guideline, an influence, and thereby an authority. You can hardly argue with truth, nor would you want to do so, once you have begun to appreciate the life-giving nourishment and the joyful sense of freedom that it brings. The first glimpses of truth will make you long for a kind of wisdom that does not just reflect on challenging periods in your life, but that takes into consideration life itself as the supreme challenge. While our parents have given us the gift of life, wisdom should somehow convey a method for us to transcend the mortality that comes with that gift.
