Overview
Armchair Fiction presents extra large paperback collections of the best in classic science fiction short stories. Here it is...our seventh collection of Science Fiction Gems. You will find a variety of thought-provoking speculative tales, penned by some of the best authors in genre history: Jack Vance, Roger Dee, Philip K. Dick, H. B. Hickey, Isaac Asimov, J. F. Bone, Don Wilcox, and many others. This collection will allow you to delve into worlds of tomorrow, where, in "Task to Luna" and "Tydore's Gift" Man finds that a singular characteristic-arrogance-could be his final undoing. Where two classic tales of caution, "On the Fourth Planet" and "The Defenders," relate different, but very likely, outcomes of nuclear holocaust. Or...begs the question of what lies ahead in mankind's endless search for self-help and therapy? "The Man Who Had Spiders" and "Grandma's Lie Soap" may leave you thinking that you are indeed fine...just the way you are. Also included in this 7th edition of Armchair's Classic Sci-fi Gems collection is Don Wilcox's, "The Voyage That Lasted 600 Years," the first known "generational starship" drama ever published! So relax, sit back, and enjoy these sci-fi nuggets in another gathering of tales well-calculated to put you in a speculative mood for a long, long time.
