Overview
On rare occasions, an ordinary man can lead an extraordinary life. Such was the life of Dusty Richards, which we celebrate with this special issue dedicated to his memory. Raise your glass with bestselling authors Jodi Thomas, Johnny D. Boggs, Velda Brotherton, and Linda Apple as they recount their time with the man that would come to be known as "The Ranch Boss." Get to know more about Dusty's work and legacy with articles from Barbara Clouse, George "Clay" Mitchell, and Terry Alexander and poetry by Marleen Bussma and Johnny D. Boggs. And once you've walked down Memory Lane with us, there's still more to explore. Don't miss our interview with actor and 1883 alum Ernest Marsh, our tribute to our late friend and fellow writer Michael McLean, or the winning short story from this year's Dusty Richards Memorial Oxbow Award, "Buckskin & Lace" by Russell Gayer. So pull up a log, pour yourself a cup of joe from the camp pot, and enjoy our newest issue.
