Overview
Rachel Evans is a privileged, judgmental, and sheltered woman running to become the nation's first African-American female president of the United States. Her life has advanced just as her parents intended. But, six months away from the elections, Rachel must face five significant problems. The rumors surrounding her daughter's death, a presumed suicide, her husband who keeps digging for facts about her daughter's death, the psychoanalyst who treated and threatened her daughter, the abusive boyfriend, and her mandatory counseling. Rachel is required to see Samantha Caldwell, a white, high-profile psychologist who came from homelessness and the wrong side of the tracks, to help her deal with her anger issues before the election. Samantha doesn't realize it, but she must face the demons of her own violent past to untangle the truth. As Samantha uncovers the secrets behind the death of Rachel's daughter, she will find the key in how to save her own life.
