The cancer which begins in the breast is termed as breast cancer. The cells start developing uncontrollably and do not die off at their usual age. Breast cancer can begin in the milk ducts, and are known as ductal cancers, or the glands which make breast milk, also known as lobular cancers. There are various types of imaging tests which can be used to detect and diagnose breast cancer such as MRI, mammogram and ultrasound. A biopsy can also be used to the diagnosis of breast cancer, as well as finding out the type and stage of cancer. Some of the different ways in which it can be treated are surgery, hormone therapy and chemotherapy.
