Cell biology is a sub-discipline of biology which attempts to study the structure and functions of cells. They are classified into prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Prokaryotic cells include bacteria and archaea. These organisms lack an enclosed cell nucleus and reproduce using binary fission. Eukaryotic cells can be unicellular or multicellular in nature.
