Back cover description: Conqueror of the Sun - Prelude to Destiny - 2nd Light continues the early background story of Shawn Arc (ages 26 to 29) and his little sister, Sabrina Arc (ages 16 to 19). It starts with Sabrina arriving in Japan as a high school foreign exchange student and her difficulties in being away from her brother for the first time. This final part of the prologue story covers: Sabrina's finishing of high school and growing relationship with her brother, Shawn's court-martial from the USAF, Sabrina dealing with Shawn's new girlfriend, and more of Shawn's early connections and conspiracies being formed for his ultimate goal of world domination. Prelude to Destiny - 2nd Light is part of the Prologue Chronicles for the Conqueror of the Sun series. Although chronologically second according to the series timeline, it is recommended to start with Conqueror of the Sun - Book 1 - Seed of an Orchid to begin the saga for first-time readers. In addition to this, reading Book 2 Mass Conspiracy and Book 3 Reign of Terror are intended to be read first before going back to the two Prelude books. Series Description: The Conqueror of the Sun series is a seven-book saga that has been 30 years in the making. The story is about a man named Shawn Arc and his desire for power and control beyond anything achieved in human history so far. The tale takes place in an alternate history that starts in the 1990s and extends far, far into the future. Shawn Arc is willing to do anything to accomplish his goals, whether it be by deception, conspiracy, war, betrayal, or on the backs of millions of dead. At the same time, the story shows that Shawn Arc is also about love, romance, and intimate relationships. Can this man be both monster and human? Or is he merely a larger than normal mirror to reflect the essence of the human condition?
