Overview
Sarah Waring, 32, naive and immature, raised within a strict fundamentalist religious cult, the Jerusalem Brethren, inwardly yearns for a less repressive lifestyle. Marriage to Martin, a fellow adherent, is about as far as she is able to go towards breaking away from the fanatical grip of her dominating mother. That is, until she receives an invitation from her once disgraced school friend Fiona, to attend a family housewarming party at Barton Mill. She decides to attend against the pressure from her church and Martin. In doing so her path to self-discovery and the people she meets comes at a tragic price.
