Overview

Point is a firsthand account of daily life for grunts in the field in Vietnam and Cambodia in 1970. It's a memoir of the author's service as an infantry sergeant, squad leader and point man in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. "If nothing else was true of jungle warfare, this was: we returned to a state of existence that predated civilization, a state our distant forebears adapted to and survived in for far longer than civilization's eye blink."
