This is the story of a woman chosen by God to work for reforms for the most oppressed of all the women of India. Pandita Ramabai, herself a Brahmin widow, found salvation through Jesus Christ and became His earnest disciple. With a clear vision for the uplift of child-widows and women, she ventured forward in the face of opposition and criticism. She was a pioneer in campaigning for women's education in India, and in teaching women their self-worth and the dignity of labor. Pandita Ramabai has contributed much to Indian society and the Christian church in India as a "mother of thousands," an educationalist, an administrator, and an evangelist. What she did for Christ exists in the form of Pandita Ramabai Mukti Mission today.
