Overview
These are stories of growing up in India. Some of these stories go back a hundred years. Some are from my own childhood. Regardless, these are stories that evoke smells - the warm pungency of ointment from a shawl, the petrichor of the monsoons, the ripening of bananas, baby powder and camphor, and the fear of exams wafting over smelling like cake. These are, by no means, extraordinary stories. Just the stories of ordinary lives that lived and loved and grew and shared in extraordinary times.
