Poem to the Empress is Ms. Nadell's first book of poems written about Japan, where she lived from 1991 to 1998. She had the good fortune to meet Her Majesty Empress Michiko and was allowed to correspond and send poems to her recieve lovely notes from her private secretary. Now Ms. Nadell lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
