Overview
Lanee Connors is about to learn what living really is about. She is used to living vicariously through her best friend, Claudia, but things are about to change when she meets Ezra Lanphear. He makes her feels things she never thought she could feel before. He takes away the pain she has lived with for seven years. Lanee has a problem with being touched or in big crowds with people, especially after being attacked on vacation when she was 18. She shut down after the attack for years until her friend helped her out, but she lost her father to suicide a year later. In comes Ezra, club owner and Adonis, who makes her heart beat like a sledgehammer. He makes her crave attention like no other, but she is afraid of being used. She wants to be normal like her friends but she is scarred on the inside. Ezra is confident and vocal. He sees something in her that makes him want to know her. He wants to be patient for her. He wants more with her. Lanee is trying to be normal for him and he is teaching her how to heal from the inside out.
