Overview
Kris, the eldest son of the clan patriarch and the strongest of the woodcutters, is typically kind-hearted and level-headed, but his pride leads him to make an unwinnable wager: to capture a flying reindeer. Kris sets out on a journey with little hope that he'll return with anything other than humiliation. Along the way, he meets an unlikely magical companion who changes everything. Kris is met with a gruesome discovery when he returns home that sets him on a course for revenge against an immortal beast. His foolhardy attempt sets in motion a war that draws in the entire village, magical creatures, and even the gods themselves. If Kris is to end this bloodshed, he must be prepared to sacrifice everything dear to him - even his own life - as he's the only hope standing between the beast's hunger and the rest of humanity.
