Overview
Elspeth Wicketts first started writing poetry when she was inspired to write a poem about a resident suffering from dementia at the rest home where she worked. She was also taking an Advanced Diploma in Counselling at the same time. This gave her a platform to recite her more personal poems. The Tutors told her that her poetry was her voice. The poem 'A Poem of Being' was originaly written as part of a module for her diploma, but when she became a Buddhist a few years later she considered it to be a Buddhist poem too.
