Overview
War and Pierogi follows Czesia, a sixteen year-old girl, torn from the comfort of her home in Poland and sent to the Siberian gulags. Based on true events, the story recounts the horrors of WWII and the human reactions that stem from the survival instinct. Although many accounts have been published about the atrocities committed by Nazis, this book reveals cruelties committed by Soviets against the Polish people during the same period.
