Overview
Gertrude Perello takes us on a beautiful journey, as seen through the eyes of an immigrant from the Caribbean country of Belize. As she writes with clarity and simple elegance, one can feel the ebb and flow of the ocean and smell the spices of beach-time cuisine. And then, she comes to America, into a different set of sights, sounds and senses--trauma, hardship and pollution! And yet, she rises above the fray. Finally, she soars like an eagle and creates a prophetic nest in the New World. Hers is a beautiful story you won't easily forget.
