Woke : A Poetic Journey

WOKE is my 1st published collection of poetry, and it tells a story about my self-reflecting journey. WOKE is a term that means to be fully aware of one's self and one's surroundings. However, I spent a large part of my life being unhappy and I couldn't understand why. But, it was my unhappiness that lead me to question my path. It forced me to step back and examine my life, and it made me accept responsibility for my unhappiness. This is when I realized that I was going to have to make some significant changes in my life, starting with myself. Fortunately, I was able to find my way back to my center, and gradually I started becoming the woman I was meant to be. Through some deep soul searching and research, I learned how to expand my thoughts. My new perspectives then allowed me to write with a depth, clarity and insight that I had never known. Now I am honored to be able to share my personal journey with you.
