Overview

In the tradition of the magical coffee table books of Abrams of the 70s and 80s, we introduce Trolls: A Compendium, which picks up after their vastly popular Faeries and Gnomes books. In a strict sense, Trolls can mean anything magical within Scandinavian mythology, so the compendium richly illustrates fairies, nisse, hulders, ghosts, housewrights, Jotuns, gods, and more. While going over these subjects, we present them in sagas, folk traditions, lore, natural formations, and myth.Throughout the book, we introduce readers to the past while also introducing them to new tales of Trollheim. A world set within the New Jersey Pine Barrens where we are introduced to Christopher Jonathan Hulton and the Thousand Acre Woods filled with Leni Lenapes, the Jersey Devil, and Trolls that escaped from the Swedish Colony back in the 17th century. Short tales as simple as a Pooh story but as complex and rich as an ancient Sufi tale that unfolds like an onion.
