Overview

In December of 1900, the Sierra Nevada mountains were hit with an early snowstorm. Betsy and Jack are not the type to sit inside, but this is not the time for snowball fights. Instead, they must set off on a life-saving mission that only they and their magnificent black horse Sid can accomplish. To make matters worse, there's a strange woman living in the mountains, and their first encounter with her has left Betsy with a fear she's never known before. Her fears are piling up: Will they make it in time? Will they make it home at all? And will they meet the Bear Witch again? The Betsy Wescott books are fast-paced adventures with strong Christian messages. They are appropriate for ages six and up as a read-aloud or for older kids and teenagers to read on their own.
