Overview
NAKED, A NEW POETRY COLLECTION by Last Poet Abiodun Oyewole, openly explores themes of self-love, forgiveness, lost love, survival, and cultural identity. The poems are intelligent, powerful, direct, engaging, and intense, shaped by the emotions they convey. Oyewole unapologetically presents his raw materials, sometimes challenging the reader's logical limits. His work echoes the concept of "naked poetry" introduced by Juan Ramón Jiménez, focusing on the idea of an essential naked woman, stripped of all external embellishments, transforming sensations into concepts that reflect the essence of nature. Written in free verse, the brief yet profound poems in NAKED reveal Oyewole's true character, showcasing his evolution into a master poet of his generation.
