Overview
Synopsis: 'Cali Church', an Afro-Caribbean Canadian woman in her mid 40's living in Toronto, who regains memories of her childhood sexual abuse after the death of her father. Her whole world implodes when these memories trigger her fear of abandonment and her desire to belong. This self-proclaimed sex addict realizes that she has been on and off "the "wagon" for most of her life, with the longest period of sobriety being her sixteen-year marriage. Cali's marriage is slowly unraveling when she discovers that her husband has been reaching out to other women on WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. As Cali realizes that she can no longer hold everything together, she takes a leave of absence from work and embarks on a journey towards her healing and sexual sovereignty.
